Just when you thought the TV news couldn't get any worse today, this comes along!
The Daily Telegraph has reported that The Project host and Gold Logie-winner Waleed Aly is thinking of leaving Channel Ten and heading back over to the ABC.
Waleed, who is an academic lawyer and a writer as well as being a very good journalist, is apparently "over" his job co-hosting the news show and is "eyeing off" a role currently occupied by Leigh Sales.
Friends of Waleed told the publication that he is currently looking at a role at the ABC and preferably, wants to take Leigh's place as the anchor of the news program, 7:30 because The Project is "a little beneath him".
Waleed hosted ABC TV's Big Ideas program before being asked to co-host The Project when Charlie Pickering left the show in 2014.
Now, after Lisa Wilkinson's departure from Channel Nine, the presenter is apparently thinking of following in her footsteps by returning to his original network.
Waleed has not addressed the rumours as of yet and because he doesn't currently have an active Twitter or Instagram account, we'll probably have to wait for him to either confirm or deny them on The Project.
