It's the brand new Channel Nine show that everyone's been talking about. This Time Next Year sees everyday Aussies tackle monumental personal goals in a year. Hosted by Karl Stefanovic, many of the stories take unexpected turns over the course of the year, with the result of each story revealed in an instant.
Tonight's premiere saw our first couple, Sequoiah and Luke take to the stage and make a pledge that in a year's time, they'd have a baby.
The couple have been trying for nearly five years to fall pregnant, and after many miscarriages and many failed IVF attempts, a doctor told them they had only 1% chance of falling pregnant.
They explained that their next option was egg donation - Sequoiah was to find an egg donor, and with Luke's sperm, hopefully try to carry the babies herself, despite them not being biologically hers. They both made a pledge to have a baby and they were off. Within a matter of seconds, Karl then introduced the audience back to Sequoiah and Luke - even though an entire year had gone past.
The result? TWINS.
The procedure was successful and Sequoiah ended up falling pregnant with twins. Despite going into labour nearly eight weeks early, both bubs are doing well and are healthy. "There's just no better feeling, I love being a mum" she said.
So happy for you both!
