Last month, we let you guys know that the classic quiz show Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation would be returning to your TV screens in 2018 and guys, it's a friggin huge deal!
The show has moved from Channel Ten over to Channel Nine but, unfortunately, none of the original team captains will be returning to the show.
The only person set to resume their original roles on the show is good ol' Shaun Micallef.
Shaun will never leave us!
The good news though, is that this gives Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation a chance to introduce brand new faces into the game, giving us a new perspective on our relative generations.
Taking over the Generation X captain spot will be Triple M presenter and actress Robyn Butler, who is Australia's answer to Tina Fey.
Robyn is currently a writer for Upper Middle Bogan as well, so we're sure she'll be able to bring some great comedy chops to the Gen X seat.
In the Generation Y seat that Josh Thomas has left empty (we still love you, Josh), will be ~drumroll please~ Andy freakin' Lee!
Andy is leaving radio life behind next year to focus on more TV projects and SURPRISE, this is one of them!
Now, we have to talk about the Baby Boomers.
Guys, the Baby Boomers actually won't be returning to Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation because, as Shaun explained at the Upfronts Presentation announcing the new series, “they’ve had their time.”
"For once in their miserable lives they won’t be dominating.
"I’m a baby boomer — maybe I’m the representation actually.
"There’ll be a new game — it’s called ‘Beat the Baby Boomer’ … they’re wheeled on, literally, and go against the other teams."
So, because of this, a new Generation Z team is being added to the show because according to Shaun, "Generation Z are old enough to be worthy to be seen on TV, apparently."
Gen Z will be led by someone you may not have seen much of yet, but trust us, he'll be popping up everywhere before you know it!
Meet your Gen Z captain, Laurence Boxhall!
This is young Laurence in costume for the mini-series Deadline Gallipoli where he played Jimmy Paradise.
He looks like a good kid so we think his generation will be fairly represented.
How exciting is this going to be?!
