Rewind back to peak 200’s and you’ll remember you had a mad obsession with the likes of bands My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco, Fallout Boy and Thirty Seconds To Mars.
Don’t deny it - we all went through this phase and there is absolutely no shame in it, because they are seriously talented.
My Chemical Romance might be a thing of your past, but it’s about to be brought into your future again, because Netflix is launching a new series and it’s from band member Gerard Way!
The streaming service will be making a 10-episode straight-to-series order for a live-action adaptation of The Umbrella Academy.
You will remember this series from Gerard Way and artist Gabriel Bá.
Set in 1977, the series was launched in Dark Horse Comics in 2007, and introduced us all to a dysfunctional family of superheroes who had to band together to uncover the mystery behind their adopted father’s death… while also saving the world from one of their own.
Legion executive producer Steve Blackman will act as showrunner for Netflix’s adaptation of the series, and Gerard Way will be a co-EP.
The show is set to grace our lives in 2018.
Let’s also take a minute to appreciate My Chemical Romance’s performance on kid’s show Yo Gabba Gabba in 2011…
Oh how things change.
