A while ago, Netflix announced that they would be creating a reboot of the iconic '90s TV show Sabrina The Teenage Witch.
The show has ordered two seasons and this morning, cast its new Sabrina Spellman!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kiernan Shipka, who you may recognise as Sally Draper on Mad Men, will be playing the lead role in the new series!
This girl is absolutely adorable and has been in quite a few amazing shows over the last few years.
She's also got killer style, just so you know...
In the reboot, Sabrina will be presented as an "empowered young woman, half-human, half-witch" who is "intelligent, compassionate and brave to the point of recklessness."
Originally, we thought the new Sabrina would be the same as the show we know and love, however, Netflix decided to go on a bit of a darker path and create a show that's very similar to Riverdale, the streaming site's TV show based on the Archie Comics.
Sabrina is actually a character in the Archie Comics as well, appearing in quite a few comic books in the 1960s, however, the teenage witch has never appeared on Riverdale, even though she lives across Sweetwater River in the town of Greendale.
Riverdale's executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who will also be producing the Sabrina reboot, said that Kiernan was the perfect choice for their new witch.
"We’re all such huge fans of Kiernan’s work that when we started talking about who this new incarnation of Sabrina could be, her name was on everyone’s wish list.
"This is a darker, more macabre version of Sabrina, and we’re incredibly excited for people to see Kiernan make this iconic character her own."
We can't wait to see how Kiernan casts her spells!
