It's that time of the year! Matt, Gary and George have found the 24 contestants that we're all going to become emotionally invested in over the course of the next month or so on MasterChef.
The first two episodes of each series of the cooking show usually have MasterChef hopefuls fighting for a place in the competition and to be honest, most people don't watch those episodes because there's too much going on!
Now, however, we have 24 great cooks to love and cherish, so before tonight's episode begins and the competition officially kicks off, here are the guys and gals you'll be watching flourish in the MasterChef kitchen:
ADELE ELLIOT, NSW
Adele is a 34-year-old Student Enrolment Officer and apparently, she makes a mean fried chicken!
ALDO ORTADO, NSW
Aldo is a restaurant manager but don't worry, that doesn't actually mean that he is a professional cook, he just makes sure the cooks get paid properly!
BEN BORSCHT, QLD
Who doesn't love a builder who can cook?! The 31-year-old is very imaginative when it comes to his food and apparently, seafood is his speciality.
BRENDAN PANG, WA
This 24-year-old is a social worker by day, dreamer by night. He wants to open up his own café one day and something tells us he will...
BRETT McGRATH, QLD
A coffee roaster from Noosa is here to shake things up a bit after surfing around the world, shopping at his local co-op and just being the biggest hipster ever. We love him.
CHLOE CARROLL, QLD
This 28-year-old is a nutritionist... we were bound to get one eventually, right?! Bring on the fanciest acai bowls we've ever seen!
DENISE VALDEZ, VIC
Denise is one of many stay-at-home parents who have made it to the top 24 this season and has travelled everywhere!
GENENE DWYER, VIC
Genene is a 49-year-old recruitment coordinator and wants to bring farm-life to her plate... we're down for all of the roasts she's going to be serving!
GINA OTTAWAY, NSW
Gina is 54-years-old, works in Disability Support and is the wonderful woman who blessed us by putting her Nonna on TV during the first episode!
HODA KOBEISSI, NSW
This 32-year-old spends her days helping disadvantaged people and admires potty-mouthed cook Gordon Ramsay... we love her already!
JENNY LAM, WA
This woman is only 28-years-old and her business, Generation Marketing, is already 10-years-old... child prodigy alert!
JESS LIEMANTARA, VIC
Jess is the youngest contestant this year at only 19-years-old, but can cook up a mean dessert, so expect some pretty things!
JO KENDRAY, VIC
Jo is a travel manager by day and has spend her 46 years of life travelling EVERYWHERE!
KHANH ONG, VIC
Khanh is a 25-year-old DJ who has previously studied fashion, so expect a lot of style and flair from this guy!
KRISTEN SHEFFIELD, SA
27-year-old Kristen got a very dramatic opening when she appeared on the show for the first time and she's the contestant presenting that cake filled with smaller cakes... this girl's going FAR!
LISA DIEP, NSW
This 33-year-old can finish a Rubix cube. 'Nuff said. She's going places.
LOKI MADIREDDI, VIC
Loki is a stay-at-home dad and probably presents his children with super fancy food when all we can muster up for dinner is pasta...
METTER CHIN, NSW
This 54-year-old project manager hopes to present some amazing food from across the globe because he's a seasoned traveller... why so many travellers this season?!
MICHELLE WALSH, NSW
Michelle is a writer, meaning she can work from home and cook whenever she wants. Lucky... She was also a presenter on Escape with ET, a fishing show from the early '00s.
REECE HIGNALL, NSW
Here, is Mr. Splat. That's his nickname this season because he like to slap things into a saucepan.
SAMIRA DAMIROVA, WA
Samira is a stay-at-home mum and describes herself as shy, but apparently her food speaks for her.
SARAH CLARE, NSW
Here's another stay-at-home mum who was raised in Tasmania... so should Ten be saying she's from TAS instead?! because there's no one else here from Tasmania...
SASHI CHELIAH, SA
This guy works as a prison officer during the day, so at least we know that going on MasterChef is a bit safer than his day job...
TIM TALAM, NSW
Vegetarians might not like Tim because he's a butcher's shop assistant and will probably be serving up a lot of meat this season...
Now you know who you'll be watching over the next few months, settle in and watch the games begin!
