I don’t know why the heck viewership numbers are down for Love Island Australia, because the drama on this show is so much better than all the other romance reality TV shows on our screens.
I said it. Sorry, but it’s true.
This season, we’ve all had the same following thoughts about Cassidy:
1. Poor girl, that a**hole Grant doesn’t deserve you!
2. Ooh, Cass and Josh could be cute… Except she seems a bit too dramatic/emotional for him.
3. HOW DARE YOU DITCH JOSH OVER A GUY YOU’VE KNOWN FOR LESS THAN A DAY!
4. Please stop saying smitten.
5. WOAH THIS CHICK IS CRAZY!
This is how we got here.
This blog might also turn into an essay…
When Dom entered the villa, Cassidy was immediately attracted to him, so much so, that she gave Josh the flick, despite the fact that he was arguably the funniest and most genuine guy interested in her at the time.
This was highlighted to the audience through the language technique of repetition.
Cassidy uttered the words “I want to jump his bones” and “smitten” close to 1.7 billion times.
However, Dom didn’t reciprocate the same amount of interest in her. Having only entered the villa for a day before choosing who he wanted to couple up with, Dom was still keen to get to know everyone, take it slow with Cassidy, and not put “all his eggs in one basket.”
Although he was sharing a bed with Cass, he did not show any affection, and repeatedly told her he was going to take it slow, yet somehow, the blonde bombshell was still pissed he wasn’t showing more interest.
This is when drama began to simmer!
Last night, Cassidy saw Dom was swimming in the pool with Millie and got angry.
Like, so angry she gave him a dirty look, then stormed off to the bedroom to tell the other girls, EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE BARELY A COUPLE!
Dom was like daaaaaamn, this is why I didn’t want to rush into things too soon:
Cassidy’s reaction left Dom turning his head towards Millie instead. Asked who she would couple up with next, Millie told Dom she would pick him on a friendship basis, but is open to see where things could go.
The next day, Grant warned Dom that Cass was “dangerous” and “playing the game”, Eden warned Cassidy that Grant was talking smack about her to Dom, and eventually, we had a little showdown between Cass and Grant!
Word soon spread about all the conversations going on.
Cass found out that Dom and Millie had a chat about coupling up, and confronted him about it, but wasn’t really ready for Dom’s honesty.
Cass: “I just wish you had have told me first, instead of Grant… You have sort of made a d*ck of me, because you’ve told my ex that this isn’t gonna go anywhere”
Dom: “He’s not your ex”
Us at home: “awwww sheeeeeeeet”
Cass: “Can you tell her ‘I’m not going to recouple with anyone else right now’?”
Dom: “I’m not going to tell anyone who to recouple with”
Erin stepped up into her role as a good friend and joined Cass’s anger, brilliantly throwing a grape across the room… before chasing after it to eat again. Thank God for Erin.
We then witnessed an insane/amazing fight between the girls, where Cass told Millie that she isn’t Dom’s type, and then called HER spiteful!
Cass: “I’m disappointed because you said that you want to recouple with Dom. You’ve told so many people before you told me.”
Millie: “I told Dom, and I told Tayla. And also, when you were recoupling with Josh, when did you tell Tash? That is so hypocritical. You didn’t go straight away and tell Tash. I had to wait for Dom to have a conversation with you.”
Things then escalated further.
Cass: “Dom and I are coupled up as friends, but you need to understand that he was interested in me. I am his type. You are not his type. He has said that he is not interested in you.”
Millie: “I know that, but he’s said that ‘I have better banter with you, Millie. I’d rather share a bed with you’”
Cass: “Nice one to be spiteful. Like Millie, take him… Grow a pair, Millie.”
Her OG enemies. Brilliant!
At the recoupling ceremony, Millie ultimately did choose to recouple with Dom.
So, when it was Cass’s turn to couple up, instead of choosing the only single guy available to pick from (Jaxon), she. chose. Grant!
BECAUSE IF YOU’RE GOING DOWN, YOU MAY AS WELL TAKE EVERYONE WITH YOU.
Even Erin was lost for words:
The Bachelor could never.
