Have you ever ordered food in an airport lounge and had to put in a special request? Some people ask for vegan meals, others prefer the vegetarian options, some are gluten free, others are dairy free...
These are all pretty common requests when ordering food in an airport lounge, but Qantas CEO Alan Joyce says that in their airport lounges, they get some pretty strange requests from their passengers.
During the opening of the new Qantas Lounge at Heathrow Airport, Alan said that his staff get some pretty interesting requests on a daily basis, but there are three specific instances that he'll always remember.
"Somebody asked for a plate of really small diced up vegetables raw.
"The second weirdest was we had an American that came in and said they didn’t want a burger that was burnt, they wanted extra burnt so charcoal nearly.
"The weirdest one was somebody wanted burger and chips.
"That doesn’t sound that weird but they wanted it as a smoothie...There are no requests that the staff won’t deliver on."
So the Qantas staff actually made a burger and chips smoothie?!
What's the weirdest thing you've heard someone order?
