It's for the craziest reason!

Cara Delevingne's Latest Beauty Ad Has Been Banned!

We've seen countless ads about magical make-up and it's pretty obvious that they're not always realistic.

They tend to take on a very extravagant storyline in which a model or actress goes on a massive adventure with their favourite new product in tow.

Cara Delevingne's latest ad for Rimmel London's latest mascara is no different.

The ad follows the model and actress in a spy world where she's on the run from enemies.

Pretty intense for a mascara ad, but it does seem pretty innocent.

Ads like things don't go out to offend customers but unfortunately, this particular ad did.

The Advertising Standards Authority in the UK have actually decided to ban the advert from being aired on UK television because a member of the public questioned the actual power of the product.

They said that the advert exaggerated the mascara's power and at first, Coty UK claimed that Cara's lashes were just naturally long.

But later, after an investigation into the lashes (yep, that happened), it was revealed that fake lashes were used in the ad and we digitally enhanced later.

The ASA commented on the controversy saying:

"Because the ad conveyed a volumising, lengthening and thickening effect of the product we considered the use of lash inserts and the post-production technique were likely to exaggerate the effect beyond what could be achieved by the product among consumers.

"We, therefore, concluded the ad was misleading."
