After a huge win in her defamation case against Bauer Media, Rebel Wilson has vowed to help struggling Aussies with all her takings.
The actress took to Twitter just hours ago to reveal her plans:
“And re my defamation case win, any $'s I receive will go to charity, scholarships or invested into the Aussie film industry to provide jobs
“I take being a role model very seriously x”
It’s been reported that the funny actress was seeking over $7 million in damages after defamatory articles published in Woman’s Day, Australian Women’s Weekly, New Weekly and OK! depicted her as a liar, which consequently impacted her career.
Rebel’s decision to take Bauer Media to court was not for money, but to send a message that the articles were not okay.
“The reason why I’m here is not for damages, it’s to clear my name, obviously.
“It’s just really not about the number... What I was hoping was that the jury would do the right thing and send a message.”
