For the first time, we have heard Kim Kardashian West speak candidly of the 'difficult' process of surrogacy.
During the latest episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim Kardashian opened up about her and husband Kanye West's third child who they are expecting via surrogacy.
Back in September this year, an extended tease of KUWTK confirmed the news that Kim and Kanye were expecting their third child. Now, the full episode has gone to air, where we got to see an honest Kim speak openly about their surrogacy.
Having already tried and failed to fall pregnant via IVF, Kim shared with her family her plans to look into finding the right surrogate.
“Getting a surrogate and finding someone that you really trust really is so much more difficult of a situation than you could really imagine,” Kim said.
“You have to like make sure that their lifestyle is healthy and they have to go through psychological testing, and it was maybe a year before we finalised our current situation...
“The surrogate that I really loved got approved and she is such a nice person, like she’s so easy to talk to and she’s the perfect fit for us.
“But we have to decide quickly, are we really going to go through with this or are we gonna wait until we feel more prepared.”
Having given the surrogacy a green light, Kim called her sister Khloe to tell her the exciting news:
“We’re having a baby! A girl.”
Although, whilst eagerly awaiting the arrival of North, 4, and Saint's, 2, new sister, Kim said that the process has been "difficult".
“It is frustrating like to not be able to do it on your own,” she said.
“I go to all the doctor’s appointments and I try to be really present, but when you’re not carrying it yourself it is such a fine balance of how much you’re going to be in their lives”.
Kim and Kanye are expected to meet their little one in January, 2018!
