Adelaide Fringe ambassador Joel Creasey stopped by this morning to chat with Amos, Cat & Angus about the competitive comedy scene and body image pressures in the lead up to last weekend’s Mardi Gras.
Amos brought up how some of his mates say they are hating being gay at the moment because “everyone has a 12 pack”
“It’s really tough and you know, Instagram doesn’t help," Joel added.
“They’re all these Insta-fit models. I saw a guy four-months-ago with a picture of a doughnut with a cross through it saying ‘Four months till Mardi Gras’.
“This guy’s got quite a few followers. I was like ‘you’re a tool, eat the doughnut, dumb*ss’.
“There's young people going to Mardi Gras for their first time thinking ‘oh, is this what I’m meant to do? Am I meant to starve myself? It’s like no, you don’t need to do that."
