After Macklemore announced that he was going to perform his pro-same-sex marriage single 'Same Love' at the NRL Grand Final, he received some backlash from the 'No' campaign.
Politician Peter Dutton, along with many other Australians said that if a song that supports the 'Yes' vote is performed at the grand final, then a song that supports the 'No' vote should be performed as well.
Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott also condemned the performance, leading Australia to wonder how Macklemore's performance would be received.
Luckily for us, Macklemore sang 'Same Love' to an excited crowd who, no matter how they decided to vote, felt moved.
Even fans who weren't physically attending the grand final were still moved and some were moved so much by the performance that they began to tear up.
It's safe to say no one will be forgetting this NRL Grand Final for a while...
