You know those little white plastic tables that sit in the middle of your pizza? What do they actually do? What's the point of them?
Apparently, they were invented back in 1983, according to Eater, and are actually called Package Savers.
Basically, the table is supposed to stop the top of the pizza box from touching the cheese, so you don't end up with a situation like this:
But it looks lonely in the middle of that pizza, so now, a pizza shop in the U.S. has popped a few chairs next to that table to create a Pizza Patio:
There's no real reason for adding the chairs, other than making your pizza just look adorable as hell.
Boston Pizza will now be putting little Pizza Patios on their pizzas until, we suppose, they run out of chairs.
Can Domino's do this to their pizza's, please?!
