Pepsi's ad campaign, featuring supermodel Kendall Jenner, is being taken down after it received massive backlash online.

The ad circulated a 'peace and love' protest, which Kendall eventually leaves a photoshoot for and joins- however, the ad caused outrage from the final scene.

It showed Kendall grabbing a Pepsi and handing it to a police officer, who was guarding the protest - the general census was that this was extremely insensitive due to recent protests by African Americans disagreeing with unfair police brutality.

Pepsi released the following statement:

"Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace, and understanding. Clearly, we missed the mark and we apologise. We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are pulling the content and halting any further rollout. We also apologise for putting Kendall Jenner in this position."

Kendall Jenner is yet to comment.
