Over the years there has been an ever-growing problem with the way in which breastfeeding is viewed by the public.
With stories of mother’s not being allowed to breastfeed in cafes, to other finding it ‘offensive’ that they breastfeed in public, mothers have faced a lot of unfair criticism for a natural and necessary part of life.
Now, in a bid to change public stigmas surrounding breastfeeding, shopping centres across the globe are starting to roll in breastfeeding mannequins.
One mall in Columbia already has mannequins set up around various stores to tackle the taboo.
This concept was established by the Friends of Breastfeeding organisation in the country and each mannequin indicates to mothers that it is a breast-feeding friendly zone.
This is such a great campaign and we hope it starts making its way over to Australian shores, because breastfeeding should never be something a parent is shamed for.
