Benedict Cumberbatch has become a real-life hero, saving a cyclist from a gang attack in London.
The Sun has reported that the actor, who was in an Uber with his wife at the time, leapt out of the vehicle when he saw a Deliveroo delivery driver being attacked.
He and the Uber driver both went to help the delivery person before the four attackers ran off.
Benedict told the newspaper that he felt that he needed to help out the driver, as he felt a sense of obligation when he spotted the brawl.
“I did it out of, well, I had to, you know?” he said.
The Uber driver, Nick Obank, said he didn't realise he was driving, and then fighting alongside, the famous actor at first.
"It all got a bit surreal. Here was Sherlock Holmes fighting off four attackers just around the corner from Baker Street.
"He seemed to know exactly what he was doing. He was very brave.
"They tried to hit him but he defended himself and pushed them away. He wasn’t injured. Then I think they also recognised it was Benedict and ran away.
"If he hadn’t stepped in the cyclist could have been seriously injured. He asked the rider how he was and when he said, ‘I’m OK’ Benedict just hugged him."
What a legend!
