In what can only be described as a bloody outrage, Sweden has inducted Australia’s Vegemite, Witchetty grubs, and even Musk Sticks into its pop-up museum of ‘disgusting foods’ from around the world.
Speaking with ABC, lead museum curator Samuel West explained: “I want people to question what they find disgusting” before admitting, “I love Vegemite so I’m kind of sad that it’s in the museum."
“It’s interesting to see how everyone comes to the defence of their own food,” museum director Andreas Ahrens added. “People can’t believe that we take their favourite foods and put them in the museum.”
Okay…. But MUSK STICKS TOO?
The museum will feature foods from another 35 countries, with Scotland’s haggis, America’s spam and China’s mouse wine also being thrown under the bus.
Look even if you’re not keen on Vegemite, how can it exists in the same category as MOUSE WINE?
If you’re in Sweden and curious to see which foods made the cut, the museum is open from today til January 27, 2019.
