We all know Flinders Street station – but did you know it has a ghost?

Rumour has it, if you find yourself on Platform 6 and 7 late at night, looking across to Platform 10 you might just spot the figure of a fisherman.

Lantern Ghost Tours guide, Ross Daniels, told the Herald Sun the ghost’s name is George.

He said the area of the Yarra River near Platform 10 was actually a fishing spot before the station was built – and it’s suggested George leftover from then.

But records show a man was pulled from the Yarra river in 1902 after drowning in a boating incident, by the name of Earnest Leahy - and some people think Earnest is still haunting the station.

Either way, we’ll be keeping an eye out next time we’re at Flinders Street Station late at night!
