Heading To The Midsumma Carnival On Sunday? This Is What You Need To Know
One of the biggest events of the year!
The Midsumma Carnival arrives on January 20th, bringing LGBTQ people of all ages together to celebrate everything the rainbow flag stands for.
It’s a huge day with entertainment, music and more. Here is some information to check out prior to heading to Alexandra Gardens.
The first thing to note is the Midsumma Carnival is a glass-free event. Consider bringing sustainable items that can be recycled or used again (like plastic straws).
The event will have different spaces, like the family domain, chill-out zone and sports precinct. Further into the evening, the space will become a dance floor for T Dance. It’ll have a huge line-up of DJs to keep the party going well into the night.
There are a bunch of stages with performances throughout the day, like the iconic Dog Show. The schedule also includes Unicorns Karaoke, Lip Sync Limelight and Best Dressed competitions.
If you’re under the age of 18, there is a special spot for you too! The Youth Precinct has a great line-up of DJs for dancing the afternoon away, as well as glitter stations, areas to relax and youth workers on site.
Oh, and we can’t forget about the food. Naughty Frenchy, Two Fat Indians and Soul Kitchen will make an appearance, as well as many other trucks on site. There is also a licensed bar to quench your thirst.
