The Banners in the Terrace competition is back for 2018!
The Shire of Esperance is holding a competition to find the best local design to enter into the State wide competition. The theme for the Western Australia Local Government Association’s 2018 Banners in the Terrace competition is “Ready and Relevant”. Entrants are encouraged to interpret and incorporate the meaning of these keywords in their designs, and to think about how 'Ready and Relevant' is integral to members of the Esperance community.
Councillors will vote for the best local design which will be digitally printed on a banner and exhibited in the City of Perth, our banner, along with 80 other West Australian Local Governments, will be displayed along St Georges Terrace and Adelaide Terrace during the Annual Local Government Convention in July this year. We are looking for design entries from individuals, schools, community groups and professional artists within the Esperance region.
Last year’s winner was the Middle School, at the Education Support Centre at Esperance Senior High School in the Secondary School Category. Shire President Victoria Brown said, “We were blown away not only with the number of entries, but by the amount of work that went into each design last year. We’re looking forward to seeing what participants come up with this year!”
There is a $100 gift voucher from a local business up for grabs for the winner and $50 gift vouchers for two runners-up. Further information and entry forms are available on the Shire website. The competition is open now and entries need to be submitted to the Shire of Esperance by Friday 13 April 2017.
