One of Canberra’s most popular suburbs will be celebrated at Haig Park this weekend!

There’s plenty of reasons to check out ‘A Taste of Braddon’ – let’s start with some of the more quirky ones..

Goat Yoga – yes, it is indeed yoga with goats.

Tickets were snapped up quickly for the two 45 minute sessions starting at 10am and 10:50am on Saturday November 11, but it’ll still be cool to watch!

Pug, poodle and dachshund races. These events have also been immensely popular!

You can watch the territory’s cutest pups race to the finish line, with the sausage dogs competing at 1pm on Saturday, the poodles at 5pm on Saturday and the pugs at 1pm on Sunday.

It’s also an event set to tantalise the taste buds – with many of Braddon’s most popular traders setting up stalls for the weekend, including Bentspoke, Mr. Papa, Grease Monkey, Lonsdale Street Roasters, Zaab and many more.

You can try some of their mouth-watering dishes on the Saturday between 11am and 9pm and on the Sunday between 11am and 6pm.

Some of Canberra’s best musical talent will also perform to keep visitors entertained.

In the City Canberra CEO, Jane Easthope, said they’re expecting thousands of people to attend.

“The majority of our traders are based within the local precinct, which is different to some of the other food events that take place in Canberra,” she said.

“It is so important that we focus on the wonderful businesses that are right here in the heart of Canberra and the region.”

Organisers hope ‘A Taste of Braddon’ will become an iconic event for the capital.

“We hope the community’s positive response and rapture with this inaugural festival will ensure it becomes an annual event on the Canberra community’s social calendar – just like the Multicultural Festival or Floriade,” Ms Easthope said.
