Winona Ryder and one of her new Stranger Things co-stars have something very unexpected in common!

Without going into any major spoilers, Maya Hawke plays a new character called Robin in the third season of Stranger Things. Winona reprises her role as Joyce in the Netflix show.

Maya, who is the daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, has had one other big on-screen role. She played Jo Marsh in the 2017 TV miniseries version of Little Women.

But who else has famously played this iconic character?

None other than Winona Ryder, who played Jo Marsh in the 1994 movie adaptation of Little Women. She was even nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance!

In case you're unfamiliar with the many on screen adaptations of Little Women, the story is based on an 1868 novel by Louisa May Alcott. It follows the lives of Jo Marsh and her three sisters, Meg, Beth and Amy.

Jo has also been portrayed on screen by Katharine Hepburn and June Allyson. Saoirse Ronan will play the role in a new movie version of Little Women which is due to hit Australian cinemas next January.
