Easter is coming up fast, and for a lot of us, that means celebrating with a fresh hot cross bun.

But just because we’re confined to our homes this year, that doesn’t mean we can’t order some of Sydney’s best buns straight to our doors, or duck out for a quick Easter treat pickup. 

Take a look at some of the best bakeries offering pick-up or delivery this month:

Hot Cross Crumpets by Merna x Pepe Saya

Crumpets by Merna together with Pepe Saya Butter are selling Hot X Bunny Easter packs! Unfortunately the cut-off date to receive the packs before Easter has passed, but you can still order them for afterwards!

One pack includes six Hot Cross Crumpets with spices, raisins and an orange peel, as well as one Pepe Saya Cultured Butter (225gm salted), all for $20.

Baked By Keiran

This Dulwich Hill bakery is offering delivery this Good Friday to the Inner West region only. To order, hungry inner westies will have to place an order via dullylocals.org, otherwise you can preorder for pick up on the weekend in store. The nutrient dates, cranberries and citrus-filled, ultra-light buns are valued at $2 each or $10 for six!

Berkelo

Berkelo’s rustic hot cross buns are filled with chai-soaked raisins, dried currants, pears, spices and are topped with a honey-ginger glaze! These babies are available on UberEats or via the Berkelo website and will cost you $3.50 each or $16 for six.

Brickfields

These hot cross buns are filled with fruits (including apricots) and are made with a buttery pastry! You can buy six for $19 by ordering them for pickup at their Chippendale or Marrickville stores, or you can get them delivered to the suburbs listed here

Flour and Stone

These buns are full of confit orange, the holy trinity of raisins, currants and sultanas, and are folded with spices and glazed with orange blossom. Unfortunately online orders are over, but you can still pick them up in-store for $4.50 each, and there’s plenty of other baked goods you can order to your door!

On top of offering a traditional hot cross bun, these guys also offer a chocolate option, topped with a coffee glaze! You can grab six for or $21 or one for $3.80. If hot cross buns aren’t enough, you can also order a 40cm ‘Hot X Eclairzilla’, made to feed 4-6 people for $32! Unfortunately online orders are finished here too, but you can still pick them up in-store and there’s plenty of other baked goods you can order to your door!

Sonoma’s signature sweetly spiced and soft ‘NotXBuns’ are filled with an assortment of dried fruits and are glazed with their house-made syrup. YUM! For those who prefer a chocolate option, there’s also a version with chunks of Belgian dark chocolate! Buns are available in stores, or you can order via Bopple.

The Grounds of Alexandria is currently offering up FANCY AF hot cross bun options. Flavours include European style, Posh Spiced, Hangover, Nana style, or Classic. Sydneysiders can pick up a bun (or 24) from The Cafe or can order the classic buns online.
