What's the Christmas forecast for the Hunter?

We're in for a classic Aussie Christmas here in the Hunter, with the sun expected to be shining.

Forecasters reckon we can expect blue skies and temperatures in the 30's for the big day, while the mercury could go a little higher inland.

On the coast it should reach around 27 degrees and in the valley we're looking at 31 degrees.

The weather for Boxing Day is set to be lovely too.

"31 inland, probably around 26 along the coast, minimum temperatures overnight probably around 17 to 18 degrees for places like Nobbys and Newcastle and then a bit cooler around 15 degrees for Cessnock", said Jacob Cronje from Weatherzone.
