There's plenty of road closures across the Far North today as we get ready for round two of the monsoon trough heading our way.

More than 500 millimetres of rain has already fallen in some areas this week, but we could expect that again over the coming days.

Here's a list to help you get through the morning commute of what's open and what's closed.

 

The Gillies Highway near Lake Barrine is open with caution thanks to water and debris.

Mossman Mount Molloy Road is closed due to flooding.

Captain Cook Highway has delays at Smithfield, Yorkey's Knob and Barron River due to road repairs.

Lower Freshwater Road is open with caution.

The Bruce Highway is open with caution with water over the road in a number of areas.

 

Kuranda Scenic Railway will remain closed this week.

Smithfield Library is closed due to water damage. Cairns Regional Council is working to get it reopened.

All AFL Cairns ovals are now closed with no training or development programs.
