WATCH: The JT Interview That Will Have You In Tears

The NRL Footy Show have captured a very emotional Johnathan Thurston on camera, following his recent season ending news.

Our hearts broke as fans, but after watching the interview it’s clear JT and his wife Samantha are feeling the full blow of the shoulder injury.

TV personality Erin Molan interviewed the couple and the emotions quickly came to the surface.

“What’s making you sad now?” asked Erin.

With glassy eyes the King of the North responded.

“Just the surgery that’s about happen, but I’ve got a lot to look forward to as well. Obviously I’ll be able to spend a lot more time at home now with the injury.”

Thurston revealed that after calling his wife, the first player he told about the season ending news was fellow Maroon, Cameron Smith.

“Do you feel like you’re letting him down maybe?” asked Molan.

“He’s just such a close mate, one of me best mates that’s all, he’s just shattered for me,” said Thurston with a trembling tone.

“Obviously with the World Cup at the end of the year and Origin 3, it just makes it so much more difficult and painful.”

JT has had his shoulder surgery and is now recovering.
