Wagga City Council has resolved to create a Crime Prevention working group, aiming to improve communications and actions to reduce crime and help ensure community safety in the area, as well as having a positive effect on community and business confidence.

The motion passed at last night's meeting will see a report presented to a future Council meeting with a proposed Terms of Reference for the group, membership and confirmation of support for the initiative from key agencies.

It's also hoped the group will help to increase partnerships and support, and strengthen the link between Council, community safety and crime prevention organisations.
