Viral 'World's Best Son' Is A Central Coast Local

A Central Coast local has gone viral after sharing how he and his family set up a mini Coles supermarket at home for his 87-year-old mum, who has Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia.

Explaining the inspiration behind their idea, Jason van Genderen says: ‘We’ve been living in home isolation now for four weeks. Something that’s a little unique to our family make up is that my mum lives with us. She’s 87 and has Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia. Her routine has really been thrown and trying to make sense of what the week is just blown to pieces for her. One of the big things she hangs her week on is her weekly shopping trip. So we can’t take her to the shops anymore, but what we thought we’d do is we’d open up a supermarket at home."
