Viewers Left Fuming After Prue MacSween’s Racist Comments On The Today Show
"He should have been slapped as a child"

Over the weekend, Aussie tennis player Nick Kyrgios made headlines again for all the wrong reasons after throwing his chair and walking out during a match in Rome.
But during a panel discussion about his behaviour on the weekend’s Today Show, guest panelist Prue MacSween’s said the following:
“He should have been slapped as a child. He is a spoiled little Greek brat who is probably being treated like a Prince… He is a little creep, and I’m sad to say he is Australian.”
“Well, I don’t think it has anything to do with him being Greek,” Ben Fordham replied.
Prue continued:
“But I’m just saying the Greeks do spoil their kids a bit. I love Greeks, I will say I love the Greeks, but I’m just saying, the Greeks do spoil their kids a bit.”
Obviously, these comments didn’t go down well with viewers who quickly called her out for ‘casual racism’.
Prue later posted an apology on Twitter, writing:
“Yasou! I know my words about @NickKyrgios upset many Greeks and I apologise if I have done so. I love the Greek people and have many Greek friends who love my sense of humour. If you didn’t see the humour in it, I apologise.”
But it seems her ‘humour’ didn’t really come across…
