Victoria has recorded a sharp rise in hospitalisation numbers with 1,054 on Saturday, a jump from 976 the previous day. Sadly, there were 23 further deaths.

By the numbers, there are 115 patients in intensive care, 30 of those are currently on ventilators.

The state now has 227,105 active cases of COVID-19, after 25,526 new infections were recorded - a dip from Friday's tally.

However, that number is seemingly skewed given the number of people yet to report or waiting for an unknown test return.

Out of the latest figures, 12,669 positive results came from PCR testing, and 12,857 from DIY rapid antigen tests (RATs).

Around 93% of eligible Victorian adults have received three doses of a vaccine.
