Melbourne is set for two days of free public transport as the Rail Tram and Bus Union take industrial action.
The next two Mondays – August 12 and 19 will see station staff keeping the barriers open all day, and officers won’t be checking passes.
Timetables are not expected to be affected by the strike.
RTBU are requesting a 6% wage increase for these workers, but Metro Trains will only offer 2%.
