A preventative step you can easily take is to install one-way screws.

One-way screws are one of the easiest ways to reduce the chances of getting your plates stolen. They come in a variety of styles, both screw and bolt thread and cater for most cars.

The most common is the ‘one way’ head which can be installed with a simple blade screwdriver, but cannot be removed without specialist tools.

The screws are inexpensive and available from most hardware stores. Most come in packs with a variety of the screws to ensure you get what your car requires.

Police encourage you to take time this long weekend to install one-way screws on your vehicles as a preventative measure.
