Sometimes the word 'legend' gets used too flippantly, but in this case we totally encourage it.
Townsville born Mitch Norton has been named a local legend for Townsville basketball.
The 25-year-old has earned the status, and becomes the fifth person to earn the honour alongside Kelvin Robertson, Michael Cedar, Peter Crawford and Simone Page.
"Townsville Basketball is thrilled to announce the induction of Mitch Norton as our fifth Local Legend" @tsv_basketball wrote on Instagram.
You can see Mitch at The Furnace this Saturday night to witness the unveiling of his Local Legend banner, joining the rest of the Townsville Basketball legends in the rafters of court 1.
The local product has repped colours for the NBL and Australia, congrats Mitch!!
