Townsville Family Given $15K On National TV This Morning

Channel 9's TODAY show hit Townsville streets this morning with a surprise for a deserving family. 

Parents Jeddah and Damien, and their children Ruby and Noah shared their story on national TV this morning, when the breakfast TV program greeted them in their drive way. 

The young family were faced with losing their possessions, but instead of looking after just themselves, they have been innovative in getting donations to help with other locals. 

Westpac kindly donated $15,000 which will make a huge difference to the Townsville family's flood recovery journey. 

Alongside the TODAY show crew surprising the Townsville couple, was the King of the North Johnathan Thurston. 

"It's heartbreaking scenes and it's quite difficult to talk about as well," says JT.
