Townsville Army Out In Force To Protect Community From Floods

As we enter day 5 of this significant weather event, the community is banding together stronger than ever. 

Bluewater residents have shown us this week just how strong and caring their community is- getting loved ones, strangers, and neighbours through this time by cleaning up for each other, offering their time, and assisting with pets. 

Now as the rain continues to fall, we have local soldiers on Townsville streets to prepare homes and businesses for potential flooding. 

From filling sand bags, to distributing them, and putting them in place across the city- it's been a busy couple of days for our local Army men and women and they are back at it again today during torrential rainfall.
