Total Fire Ban...And It's Still Winter!
The fire danger is severe..
A total fire ban has been declared for the Hunter, with the RFS saying today's weather is worse then they expected.
The fire danger rating has been upgraded from Very High to Severe, due to the warm ,windy conditions.
Wind gusts of 67km/h were recorded at Williamtown at 10:30am.
The total fire ban will remain in place until midnight tonight.

The main concern right now for the RFS is on the South Coast, where emergency warnings have been declared for out of control fires near Nowra and Ulladulla.
Homes are under threat, with residents told it's too late to leave.
