Top 12 Old School Movies From Our Childhood
Remember these?
There's something about our favourite childhood movies that really gets the nostalgia flowing!
We're celebrating all things OLD SCHOOL here at the station, all because we're hosting the old school party to end all parties, at the new Paramount in Northbridge.
In no particular order, here are some of the old school childhood classics that we all loved as kids.
Space Jam
Every Aussie kid took up basketball after watching Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes star in this classic film.
The NeverEnding Story
You can't go past that theme song. We ALL wanted to live in Fantasia.
Mighty Ducks
DUCKS FLY TOGETHER! No one could stop the flying V when the Mighty Ducks hit the ice.
Home Alone
Can we acknowledge the fact that Kevin was basically a genius? The traps he put together were so clever! Also the lack of airport security in these films seems hilarious in 2017.
Jumanji
In the mid 90s you could actually purchase your own version of the Jumanji board game... but it wasn't quite as exciting as what they portrayed on screen.
Goonies
Hands up who dreamed of gathering your friends together and heading off on an adventure after watching The Goonies?
Matilda
While Mara Wilson was a perfect Matilda, the most iconic scene in this movie has to be Bruce Bogtrotter eating a chocolate cake.
Hocus Pocus
Most of our Halloween knowledge in the 90s came from this movie... could Bette Midler really be to blame for the growth of trick or treating in Australia?
My Girl
The first movie that made you cry was probably My Girl. HE CAN'T SEE WITHOUT HIS GLASSES!
The Land Before Time
This movie was followed by a massive 13 sequels plus a TV series - but the original adventure of Littlefood, Cera, Spike, Ducky and Petrie was the best.
Hook
No one should ever try to make another Peter Pan movie - Robin Williams will always be the only Peter in our hearts.
Spy Kids
For those who were born in the 90s, no movie symbolises childhood like Spy Kids... we're still waiting for our parents to reveal they are actually spies.
If you love Old School as much as us, you'll want to join Heidi, Will and Woody at our Old School Party at the New Paramount.
