Following the tragic events in Christchurch on Friday, Tim & Jess wanted to highlight the Muslim communities across Central Queensland and the struggle they've endure since the horrific attack, which is why this morning they caught up with Mustafa Elkhishin from the Islamic Society of CQ.

In an emotional and inspiring conversation, Mustafa explained how he first learned of the attack and his hopes for what will come next as a result.

"I think we need to remain hopeful that things can change and will change... because without hope what's left, really?"

- Mustafa Elkhishin

Mustafa expressed his hopes that the Christchurch tragedy will bring people together, regardless of race or religion, adding, "Ultimately we're all human beings... None of that stuff should really matter".

"What we often hear about every time we turn on the television are the things that seperate us... It creates this division, and it creates this hate... What we need to hear about more - and this can be the catalyst to make this happen - are the things that... unite us and bond us together as a human race.... That's the direction that I'm hopeful we will go."

- Mustafa Elkhishin
