Three young teenagers have been charged following the armed robbery of a service station at Meadowbrook overnight.

Police were called to a store on Logandowns Dr around 10:30pm on Monday, after an incident involving a group of teenage girls.

It will be alleged five girls entered the store wearing surgical gloves, before three of them began picnicking on food and drinks from the shelves without paying, while the other two waited out front.

A verbal argument broke out when two workers approached the trio and requested they pay for the items.

Two of the girls allegedly each pulled out a knife and threatened the attendants, before all three took more food, damaged the front glass doors and left the store.

Police were arrested five youngsters nearby a short time later.

A 14-year-old and 12-year-old from Coomera and a 13-year-old from Drewvale have since each been charged with one count of armed robbery.

All three will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
