Melbourne is still recovering from the shocking attacks on Eurydice Dixon (22) and Aiia Maasarwe (21). The young women were murdered just months apart, and the female population of this city are feeling more unsafe as time goes by.

The new campaign Walk Like A Woman is hoping to encourage men to understand how it feels to be a woman walking alone in the dark; why we choose to hold onto our keys, wave a flashlight to assess our surroundings and take out our headphones.

An immersive piece of audio is what drives the message in. In 60 seconds, it tells the story of a woman on her walk before she races home at the sound of catcalling. It’s quite intense and will hit home with many people.

On the campaign’s Spotify playlist, there are other 30 second clips with tips on how to help women feel safer.
