AFL NSW/ACT and R U OK? have teamed up to create an awareness round on 3-4 August, 2019 to help us look our for one another and create an environment that encourages meaningful conversations both on and off the footy field.  

Herbie put together an hour of R U OK AFL Round interviews on the show this morning to open up the conversation on mental health:

AFL Riverina Football Operations Coordinator, Tommy Walker, joined Herbie to discuss how the Riverina will be supporting the R U OK AFL Round. 

Former Carlton Football Player: Jake Edwards

Former Carlton football player & founder of Outside the Locker Room Foundation, Jake Edwards joined Herbie to discuss his own journey with mental health and how he changed his life around to now being able to help other athletes who are struggling. 

Good Talk Founder: Fran Reid

One of the founders of the local charity, Good Talk, Fran Reid joined Herbie to discuss the importance of speaking up and supporting your mates after losing her brother, Graeme 'Reidy' Reid to mental health in 2016. 

R U OK CEO: Katherine Newton

R U OK CEO, Katherine Newton, joined Herbie to discuss the important of big organisations like the AFL getting behind them and why it is so important to ask someone R U OK?

Herbie Opens Up About Mental Health 

Herbie opened up as to why she is so passionate about supporting R U OK and why we need to bring more awareness to its campaign.
