This Aussie Dating App Is ONLY For People Who Went To Private School

New dating apps are popping up everywhere in the webosphere, aiming to unite like-minded people from all corners of the country.
But there was clearly something missing from the dating app market, because a new app has launched in Australia that is exclusively for people who went to private school…
To quote words from the infamous Ja’mie, “Studies have shown that students from private schools are more likely to get into Uni and end up making a lot more money…”
There’s some real Ja’mie’s out there because there’s a niche for this type of dating where upper east siders won’t date ‘below them’.
The app, Toffee, first launched in Britain and has now made its way over to Aus.
The website explains, “We set it up because we know people from similar backgrounds are more likely to stick together.
“Toffee connects the right people to help them find their match with our sophisticated matching algorithm taking care of all your dating homework.”
“We felt that Australia would be the best place for us to roll out to first though as we were inundated with requests for us to launch there,” Lydia Davis, the founder of Toffee and a former private school student, revealed to the Sydney Morning Herald.
The app, according to Lydia, is a niche dating platform for the privately educated, of which there are around 34% in Australia.
The app even double checks what school the user jots down to ensure it’s a private or independent institution, because they’re not letting anyone else in.
That's right - applications to the app have to be approved before you can use it!
The snobbery, if you’d like to call it that, doesn’t stop there! This isn’t like any dating app, with profile questions and options featuring sophisticated topics like your ‘perfect menu’, where you are prompted to choose a starter, main, dessert, and cheese - sorry, hot chips aren’t on the menu here.
You can even match people based on similar interests, like sports, art, and culture.
