Ikea

Ikea is infamous for its weird and wonderful products with names we can never pronounce properly and prices that aren’t that bad.

While we’re all pretty keen on picking up a snazzy table as a talking piece for when our mates pop around, it turns out that one piece of Ikea furniture might earn us thousands in the future…

The LÖVBACKEN side table can be bought from the store for only $79, but online antique marketplace Barnebys predicts they’ll be worth thousands in the future.

Post

Barnebys co-founder and antique blogger Pontus Silfverstolpe said the piece is “a wonderful little table with fantastic heritage.”

In the future, the table could be worth:

  • $1755 - $3159 by 2030
  • $5265 - $7775 by 2040

The table, originally called the LÖVET in 1953, was the first piece of furniture Ikea launched, that required flatpack assembly, so its iconic nature is treasured.

“The LÖVBACKEN has become a collectable for the most discerning of furniture experts.

Post

“I wouldn’t be surprised if the development in its value would look like this in the future.”

It is not known how long this will be on sale for at the cheap price, so if you want yourself a piece of iconic furniture that could make you moolah in the future, get on this!
