Halloween is here once again and you may be looking out for some spooky sights in town.

Here are some of the places in Melbourne that will give you a fright!

1. Queen Victoria Market

It has become common knowledge that there are 9000 bodies lying underneath the graveyard-turned-marketplace. At night, people have reporting sightings of ghosts around the fruit section. Maybe the ghosts got hungry?

2. QV

The site where the QV shopping centre stands today used to be a hospital, and security guards have reportedly seen the ghosts of nurses wandering around. One nurse has been said to point to the space where the children’s ward used to be.

3. Como House

It may be a popular place to say ‘I Do’, but don’t be fooled by the property’s creepy history. Ethel Armytage, who died at age seven has been spotted wandering the morning room by wedding planners. Her mother, Carolyn died in 1909 of a heart attack and has also been spotted.

4. Pentridge Prison

During tours of the Coburg property, it has been reported that Mark ‘Chopper’ Read's voice has been heard in the D Division of the prison. It makes sense... he spent a LOT of time there.

5. Altona Homestead

Experts in the paranormal say that the property is home to 11 ghosts, including Sarah Langhorne who died of Parkinson’s disease in 1871. If you look closely, you may see her peeking out the window!

6. Bundoora Homestead

This spot may be used as an Arts Centre, but its creepy history will always leave its mark. Used as a mental repatriation hospital for returned soldiers, former patients are known to walk the halls and close doors without warning.
