Thanks to Tropical Cyclone Owen, Melbourne is experiencing a month’s worth of rain in just one day. According to the Bureau of Meteorology, our city will receive a lashing of heavy rain, thunderstorms and destructive winds.

The result of the wild weather is reported flooding in several areas around town before 10am. VicEmergency have listed the warnings on their website, so if your area is prone to it, you may want to keep it handy.

Here are the areas that have been listed so far as of 10.55am…

  • St Kilda East
  • Ashburton
  • Brighton East
  • Gardenvale
  • Brighton
  • Mckinnon
  • Oakleigh South
  • Beaumaris
  • Cheltenham
  • Pascoe Vale
  • Ringwood
  • Carnegie
  • Elwood

There are also many building damage alerts, though it is unclear whether it is weather-related.
