It's arguably the biggest community event in the Bunbury calendar, and this years Australia Day Skyfest is set to be the most memorable yet.

To kick-start the Aussie Day festivities, the popular Apex Club barbecue breakfast at Bicentennial Square will begin from 6am followed by the annual Runners Club Fun Run which will see hundreds get sweaty while having fun running around the beautiful Leschenault Inlet.

From there, locals will flock to the Mayor's Citizenship Ceremony at Graham Bricknell Music Shell at 8:30am where the mayor will welcome locals and award those who have made a considerable contribution to our community over the past year.

After the formalities, grab the family for an array of free Australia Day activities at Bicentennial Square from 4pm including water slides, umbrella painting, wildlife petty zoo, circus workshops, rock climbing, bouncy castles and bungee trampolines.

Don't forget to take the little ones to the Kids Stage with a host of entertainment from the likes of 'Mario the Almost Magnificent' and the 'Kangaroo Creek Gang', bound to keep the youngsters dancing and singing well into the afternoon.

But don't be fooled, this Australia Day bash isn't just for kids - adults can enjoy the many food vans, market stalls and live entertainment dotted across the precinct.

As well as the electric vocals of Perth singer/songwriter Katy Steele, remembered as the front woman for band Little Birdy who rose to fame in the early 00's with hit singles in both the ARIA charts and Triple J's Hottest 100.

The pop rock singer will headline the live music concert accompanied by a mix of South West and Perth based bands.

And if that wasn't enough to have you screaming 'Aussie Aussie Aussie!' at the top of your lungs this is bound to - the day will come to a triumphant end with a spectacular fireworks display assisted by colorful pyrotechnics to light up the sky from 8:30pm.

So put on a pair of your best pluggers, throw a shrimp on the barbie and get set for another ripper Australia Day filled with pride and fun right in the heart of Bunbury.

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi!
