The Most True Blue Australia Day Bash In Helensvale This Saturday

Slip on a pair of your best pluggers, throw a shrimp on the barbie - because nothing quite beats Australia Day on the sunny Gold Coast.

This Saturday 26th January the biggest community event in our Aussie calendar takes centre stage across the nation. A chance to sing Nollsy's 'What about me' at the top of our lungs without judgement and celebrate the fact we all collectively voted to change the name of a new Vegemite product to 'iSnack 2.0'.

But most of all, it's about celebrating our nations pride - and NightQuarter in Helensvale has a fairdinkum 'ripper' line up to celebrate just that. 

From good ol' fashion cockroach races and thong throwing to snag eating competitions and Aussie magicians - it won't take long to get into the true blue Aussie spirit at the popular night market. 

Kicking off from 4pm the BBQ, beats and beers bash will have enough 'straya themed entertainment and food for you to poke a pairs of tongs at. 

With live music and family fun including dunny roll throwing, sausage sizzles and buttercup the milking cow contest (yes, you read that correctly) through to dance parties, egg and spoon races, sack races and more!

If you've got the little ones in toe, send them on a culture trip throughout the marketplace, exploring native wildlife, traditional treats, animal painting workshops and all the best that Australian culture has to offer during this gigantic treasure hunt. 

After you've worked up an appetite exploring the grounds, tuck into some of our favourite Aussie treats with a selection of Golden Gaytime cocktails, Time Tam cronuts, fairybread donuts and Caramello Koala jelly cups on menus across the many speciality food trucks. 

By then, it'll be time to dance off the sugar high, with classic rock cover band Prime Ministers of Australia belting out some of the greatest Aussie anthems from our country's most loved artists inside The Paddock.
