The Epic Surf Event Making Waves In Margaret River This Month

Surfs up for The Margaret River Pro this month as it begins to make waves across the South West. 

The popular annual surf event is back in 2019 to once again form part of the World Surf League (WSL) World Championship Tour (WCT).

The Margaret River location is one of 11 WCT events globally. Our region will be broadcast to the world, along with other iconic destinations including Australia, Indonesia, Brazil, South Africa and Hawaii.

Western Australia will be the fourth stop on a whirl-wind global tour.

The Margaret River Pro is set to create a splash in town from May 29.

Boasting the top ranked surfers of this generation - 34 male and 16 female - they will hit the WA shoreline from 29 May to 9 June for an epic 12-day event.

Locals are encouraged to grab their mates, head down to Surfers Point and watch the best surfers in the world battle it out throughout the day.

You can also catch the action live on the big screen in Ruether Park, Margaret River (town). And, better yet, it's a free event for all ages.

The entire region will come alive across tour dates with activities on and off shore ramping up.

A stellar line up of music and entertainment at The Drop Festival in Brusselton will kick-off over the same weekend, allowing South West to truly shine as a tourist hot spot.  

Surfers Point will come alive with crowds and the world's best surfers later this month.
