Campaign to help 3yo's family takes off

She’s Canberra’s very own little princess who’s touched hearts right across the capital, and no doubt, elsewhere.
Annabelle Potts heads into her fourth day of radiation today, after she was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour in December.
“It’s tough on her little body, but she’s a trooper,” Annabelle’s aunty, Louise Griffiths, said.
Her family tells us even though the treatment makes Annabelle very tired, she has been eating well, and still finds time to be a cheeky three year old.
“This afternoon she was even sending me nonsense text messages from my mum’s phone,” Louise said.
There has been some good news since we brought you the latest update earlier this week.
Annabelle and her family will be moving to the Ronald McDonald House next to the hospital, where she’ll get treatment as an out-patient.
“This will enable her to have a bit more rest and also allow Kathie and Adam to both be by her side at night time and also offers a little more stability for them all,” Louise said.
The Go Fund Me campaign set up to help Annabelle’s family has raised nearly $63,000.
“We have all been so overwhelmed with the response to this campaign. It shows what an amazing community we live in and what amazing friends and family we all have,” Louise said.
“Every cent takes a little bit of stress off Kathie and Adam.”
A range of businesses have also shown their support, including Baringa Child Care Centre in Spence, where Annabelle goes.
Staff have waived the fees for Annabelle’s little brother William and also offered care to Kathie’s sister Allison, who has four kids of her own.
Allison has been caring for William while Kathie, Adam and Annabelle are in Sydney.
It’s understood, William may be relocated there, so he can be with his family at Ronald McDonald House.
And the generosity doesn’t stop there.
All of the McDonalds stores in the ACT and Queanbeyan will donate 10% of their sales from 5pm to 8pm on the 31st of January to the campaign.
